A Great Salvation pt. 3 - Christ our High Priest
Hebrews 4:12-16
The Word of God is living and active. This is a remarkable reality which can be terrifying or comforting. God knows everything about us. Nothing is hidden.
And still, knowing all of our mess and mixed motivations, he bids us to come for mercy and grace.

Christ, our Apostle: A Great Salvation pt. 2
Hebrews 3:1-6
Moses was a great leader - prepared, called, sent, and empowered by God to deliver Israel out of slavery, through the wilderness, and into the promised land.
Jesus, likewise, was prepared, sent, and empowered by the Father, but His salvation is better, and He is worthy of more glory.

Christ, our Brother - A Great Salvation pt. 1
Hebrews 2:9-18
"Nobody knows what I am going through!" Many people believe that they are alone because others have not gone through the same thing they are struggling with. The author of Hebrews begins his sermon by sharing one aspect of our savlation. Jesus, the eternal God, became like us in every respect, in order to bring salvation and be a merciful high priest. He is not ashamed to be called our brother.

More Grace - Word and Work pt. 3
James 3:16-4:6
Every system is perfectly designed for the results it gets. The writer of James communicates to a church organization in trouble. There is infighting and all kinds of problems. Instead of telling them to shape up, he shares this amazing promise - God gives us more grace. The solution to their problems is not winning, but heart change through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Word and Work pt. 2 - The Royal Law
Two men walk into a church.....
James 2:1-18
Today, we explore the sin of partiality. A wealthy, well connected man and a poor man walk into the assembly of the faithful, and are treated very differently. The church members were concerned about what the new members could do for them, rather than what the Lord could do for these visitors.
Word and Work pt. 1 - The Law of Liberty
James 1:17-27
The book of James has always been controversial. It's been accused of legalistic, but it contains great wisdom and great truth.
In today's passage, we wrestle with the question of what makes us good. There are a lot of messages out there in the world about how we can be good, but all of them leave us wanting something else. God's word to us is that we can only be saved by receiving God's word, the gospel, and putting it into action.

Acts 26
As Paul stood before the court, he poured out his testimony. He had seen a wonder that had changed his life. Yet, he found his story dismissed.
The world is full of false wonders, hoaxes, and deceptions - but that does not mean that all wonders are false.
The gospel of Jesus is a world-changing wonder, and generations of believers testify to its reality and power. This wonder must be at the center of our mission.
We must be born again.
The Lord has brought us this far, and He is faithful.
As I leave for sabbatical, I am confident of the Lord's provision for all of us. The first eight years at St. Timothy have been wonderful, and I am convinced that the best days are still ahead.
~Fr. Micah
Each one has been given a manifestation of the Holy Spirit for the common good.
The Holy Spirit empowers all believers to build the church and the Kingdom.
Today we look at 1 Corinthians 12:7
By this we know -
The apostle John wrote his first letter to a church in doubt. There had been division and question, and so he writes a short letter that is full of reassurance. Concluding, he writes that three testify - the water, the blood, and the Spirit. These three still reassure us of our faith in a world of doubt and question.
